Demonstration content. Our application for a level-access shower took several months, and having an occupational therapist's report ready in advance seemed to speed things up.
I kept a simple folder with every letter and form, which made it much easier to answer follow-up questions from the council.
Grant rules, means testing and timescales vary between local authorities, so check with your own council directly.
